<itunes:summary>The Sweet Spot is where your passion meets your purpose - and everyoneâs got one. But not everyone has a relationship to it. It is the doorway to your most authentic voice, and everyoneâs is different. The Dr. Lara show is committed to helping you find, embrace, and live in your Sweet Spot. How do we find purpose in our pain? Is it possible to live guided by the power of pleasure rather than the pressure of performance? How do we learn how to give ourselves permission to live from our Sweet Spot? Dr. Lara will address these questions, not only as a coach, but as a player too. She will explore tools for finding, embracing, and living in the Sweet Spot. The question is never Am I good enough, but rather, Am I generous enough to share my gifts with the world.</itunes:summary>

The Homework Myth

Dr. Lara Honos-Webb, host of The Sweet Spot Podcasts, interviews Mr. Alfie Kohn, author of The Homework Myth: Why Our Kids Get Too Much of a Bad Thing published by Da Capo Lifelong Books.

Alfie Kohn writes and speaks widely on human behavior, education, and parenting. The latest of his eleven books are The Homework Myth: Why Our Kids Get Too Much of a Bad Thing (2006) and Punished By Rewards: The Trouble with Gold Stars, Incentive Plans, A's, Praise, and Other Bribes (2005).

Kohn has been described in Time magazine as "perhaps the country's most outspoken critic of education's fixation on grades [and] test scores." His criticisms of competition and rewards have helped to shape the thinking of educators -- as well as parents and managers -- across the country and abroad. Kohn has been featured on hundreds of TV and radio programs, including the "Today" show and two appearances on "Oprah"; he has been profiled in the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, while his work has been described and debated in many other leading publications.

Kohn lectures widely at universities and to school faculties, parent groups, and corporations. In addition to speaking at staff development seminars and keynoting national education conferences on a regular basis, he conducts workshops for teachers and administrators on various topics. Among them: "Motivation from the Inside Out: Rethinking Rewards, Assessment, and Learning" and "Beyond Bribes and Threats: Realistic Alternatives to Controlling Students' Behavior." The latter corresponds to his book BEYOND DISCIPLINE: From Compliance to Community (ASCD, 1996), which he describes as "a modest attempt to overthrow the entire field of classroom management." Visit his website.

How to Use Humor & Other Professional Techniques to Create Alarmingly Good Business Presentations.

Tom Antion is an internationally acclaimed expert in Internet
Marketing for small business. He is a full time professional speaker who has
been featured on major news media worldwide including the Canadian Broadcast
Network, The Australian Broadcast Network, Associated Press, The Tokyo Today
Show and hundreds of radio, television and print outlets across the United
States.

Tom has a very simple "Three Prong Attack" on Internet
marketing, which is extremely simple and easy to understand. Tom is no "techie"
. All he cares about is where to click to make money and he teaches his students
the exact techniques he uses to pull in $75,000.00 to $220,000.00 in a month
from his home office. These consistent high profit / low overhead Internet sales
have made Tom an Internet Multi Millionaire in a very short period of time.

Since Tom consistently makes large sums of money while
sitting in front of his computer this gave him the idea for his infamous "Butt
Camp" Seminars where you learn to make more money sitting on your ârearâ than
going out and working for a living.

Tom has students in his mentor program who are e-millionaires
and many are making 5, 10, 15 or $20,000.00 US per month.

Tom has the largest Internet magazine in his industry with
over 130,000 subscribers in 80 countries.
